DAISY CHAIN is a very good melodic German punk band with female vocals. They undoubtedly have old school British and European influences, but they keep things moving along at a fast tempo and cram every song with enough hooks and harmonies to put them way ahead of the spiky pack. The London band DEADLINE immediately springs to mind, as do a few older bands such as the EJECTED, the VIOLATORS, of course VICE SQUAT (the singer even sounds suspiciously British), and even the AVENGERS. High praise, indeed. The singer has a really great, clear voice, and she's supported by good backing vocals. The lyrics are in English and German and deal with political and personal issues. As a bonus, the record comes with a nice poster of a smashed up police van. Definitely recommended. (AD)
